ATTENTION ASSIST® is a revolutionary piece of technology that helps drivers feel safer as they explore St. Louis. How does it do this? Aside from being the first of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® is incredibly advanced and can sense when you’re becoming drowsy based on your driving behaviors and how you interact with your environment. How ATTENTION ASSIST® on a Mercedes-Benz Works

Equipped with a highly sensitive sensor and algorithm, this system learns your driving behaviors over time and can tell you when it’s time to rest. The ATTENTION ASSIST® “take a break” Mercedes-Benz function operates in four ways:

1. When you head out on Clayton roads, ATTENTION ASSIST® on a Mercedes-Benz starts working without the first few minutes and monitors your driving behaviors across 70 parameters.
2. The system picks up on steering corrections that could indicate you’re becoming drowsy and losing focus.
3. External factors are also considered, such as driving conditions and crosswinds. ATTENTION ASSIST® on a Mercedes-Benz also evaluates how you use the controls inside the cabin and can make an assessment based on your reactiveness and alertness.
4. If it senses driver fatigue, the system will notify you visually and audibly and suggest you stop for a break.
